Dr. Turner’s Sticks, Stones, Herbs + Bones Open for In-Person Business!

Preview

My work has long been focused on finding ways to combine spirituality, science, and history with teaching, writing, and mentoring as my own small way of building stronger community and playing my part as a good citizen. And so I’m over the moon to announce that I opened the doors to Dr. Turner’s Sticks, Stones, Herbs + Bones this Friday at 1pm. With its distinctive blend of metaphysical supplies, tarot reading, workshops, antique scientific instruments, hand-dipped candles, and used books in the history of science and spirituality, the shop is a funky, unique spot in Baltimore’s famed Hampden art district. We’ll be open on Fridays and Saturdays from 1-6 at 3000 Chestnut Avenue in Suite 343A, and other days by appointment. Come by and take a look!

Come see us!

I am already very attached to my little studio space and hope those of you in the area will be able to come by and visit, but don’t let that stop the rest of you from checking out the online and digital offerings! The current political and economic upheaval in the United States creates an acute need for businesses serving clients near and far, wherever the winds of change might blow them and whether or not their own communities offer the services they need. My hope is thus to build a strong, diverse, satisfied, and far-flung client base through a wide variety of digital offerings and professional services that will be available to you no matter where we might find ourselves in the world at any time. This summer, for instance? I’m currenting scheduling travel to Europe and the UK for research purposes. Although we won’t be able to sell physical goods during this time, Dr. Turner’s digital arm will continue to be available, providing you with virtual tarot readings and all of our professional services, including online tutoring, consulting, workshops, historical research, and writing and editing. Have you been wanting to get your hands on historical material overseas but been unable to make the trip, for instance? Hire me! I can travel to European archives and digitize materials for you even if you aren’t able to travel abroad yourself. Do you need some tarot guidance or ancestral work for challenges you’re facing? Readings are available digitally!

Comfy spots for tarot readings, tutoring, and reading groups

As part of the process of aligning my business with community needs, I’ve begun transitioning away from services and vendor platforms that don’t share neighborly goals. Most recently, I’ve transferred my online writing to drturners.com, where it will be free for all to read moving forward. If you’re one of my Substack subscribers — welcome to the new home of Dr. Turner’s Notebooks! Following this announcement, I’ll turn off subscriptions on Substack. Paid subscribers will be refunded any outstanding money on their subscriptions. While the new blog will be free to read for all, subscriptions will still be available for those generous souls who want to help support the time it takes for content creation and who would like to support accessibility for those who might not be in a position to otherwise enjoy paid content. I’m hoping to add other digital content in the coming months, from short instructional videos, podcasts, and downloadable books and pamphlets. Your digital content subscription will make all of these projects possible. Stay tuned!
